Cherrio!

Tonight was a very exciting dinner! I've been putting cheerios and other small food items on Ava's tray so she can practice her fine motor skills with something that isn't a choking hazard. I've also been putting cheerios into her mouth occassionally so she can start trying to eat solid food. Well lo and behold, out of nowhere tonight, she picked up a cheerio from her tray and popped that sucker right into her mouth! I know that probably doesn't sound like the most exciting news but I was really impressed! It was so cool to watch her put all that together. She just acted like she's known how to eat all along but just didn't feel like doing it until tonight. It is the same way I felt when she started sitting on her own. She just so casually started doing it I almost wondered if she could have sat weeks earlier but no one bothered to ask.
While I was cleaning up the missed cheerios on the floor we engaged in a rousing game of peek-a-boo. I laughed so hard at her laughing that my cheeks hurt. I love when that happens.
