SHE LET GO!!!!!!

So tonight before Ava went to bed she was pushing her little walker with one hand when suddenly, completely out of the blue, she let go and walked into the kitchen! I yelled at Mike to get the camera and here's what followed:

So I guess it's official.

Ava's sitter left the following voicemail message on my work phone at 1:42 pm (while I was on a conference call):

"Just wanted to make sure...you know she's crawling, right?"

Mobility

Ava's mobility has taken a great leap forward this week. She's started to motor along a little on her hands and knees. I'm not quite ready to say she's crawling but she can scoot a short distance on the floor on her hands and knees. She's figured out the concept and next week she'll probably be on the move. Another interesting change is captured in this video. Until recently when we'd hold Ava's hands and try to get her to walk she would just lean forward with her feet firmly planted on the ground as if in concrete. Suddenly she's begun lifting her feet up on her own and "walking".
