Some news...

So here's why I haven't been blogging much! We've got baby #2 on the way with an expected due date of July 27th. This has made for a very exhausted/nauseated last several months with raising my arms overhead in the shower to shampoo becoming my biggest accomplishment of each day. I'm feeling much better now and back to my old self...for a while anyway.

We're very excited about this new development but nervous, of course. Where will baby sleep? Where will baby sit in our compact car? Where will baby attend day care? Will baby come with extra money to pay for his/her own day care? Will Ava be forever traumatized by being dethroned? How will I carve up my already carved-up day to give two children the attention they need and deserve? All of these things are running through my mind but I know that like Ava, who has been nothing short of a blessing to us each day of her life, we'll adore this baby and be grateful for him/her and we'll somehow figure it out.

This ultrasound photo was taken on January 15th. The scan showed the baby to be healthy and energetic. I was amazed to see that the baby had its hands up at his/her face and appeared to be a thumb-sucker like Ava. Ava was born with suck blisters on her thumb and still sucks her thumb. How amazing that at 12 weeks a little sibling would do the same! Like Ava, the more stressed the baby got (with the annoying ultrasound technician abruptly punching the scanner into my abdomen) the more the baby put the hands to the mouth. This is very similar to Ava. Her thumb is her comfort item. She sucks it when nervous, sick, stressed or tired. It'll be very interesting to meet this little baby and learn more about his/her personality.

We'll try to update on the progress of the pregnancy...maybe. :)

Some more pics

Here are some more pics of Erin almost to her due date.

Note from Erin: These pics are from two different weeks (last day of 38 and last day of 37). What do you think, has the baby dropped? Or perhaps my posture just got crummy in the meantime...

New induction date

My doctor rescheduled my induction for September 10th at 6:00am. I am relieved to have another week to allow the baby to come on its own but admit to just a hair of disappointment. I was not at all thrilled about being induced but I was getting excited that the baby would be here one way or another on Tuesday! We'll keep you updated, you never know!
